Top Broadway Moments of 2025

This was an interesting year of theater. It was a year of flashy celebrity's on stage, I saw people who i've idolized for over a decade. I (kinda) made my Broadway debut with Jonanthan Groff. This is also the year i experienced my first big disappointment on Broadway. It was so hard to choose my top 10 moments (they would probably all be from Cabaret and Just in Time), so I am just going to list my favorite moment or part from every show

• The Outsiders: The rumble in the rain, I did not love The Outsiders, and I do not, for the life of me understand why fully grown women drooled over Broody Grant, but that rumble scene was a masterclass in technical design, lighting, and movement, it made my heart race and my pulse skyrocket

• Gypsy: Audra McDonald's Rose's Turn, I think my soul actually left my body

• Maybe Happy Ending: I can't say much without revealing major spoilers, but the firefly sequence was breathtaking, gorgeous, and made me gasp

• Redwood: I did not enjoy this show at all, however, I did enjoy being in the same room as Idina Menzel, and hearing her sing was something I won't ever forget

• Drag: Adam Pascal being so fed up, that he broke character, dropping the F bomb, calling out the obnoxious assholes in front of me who would not shut the hell up

• Cabaret: Adam Lambert singling me out for a moment of improv, I reacted (allbeit, quite theatrically) to one of his (bad) jokes after having a little to much champagne, and we bounced off of each other for a moment, then he came over a few minutes latter and told me how glamorous I looked in my sparkly flapper costume

• Vanya: Andrew Scott's entire performance (he played all 9 characters). It was jaw dropping, funny (didn't expect that from this show), sexy (he IS the hot priest after all), and left me floored. And don't get me started on the shirtless scene, who knew Andrew Scott was so jacked?

• Death Becomes Her: Madeline tumbling down the stairs, in the movie, its a quick scene, maybe 10 seconds, on Broadway, it takes well over a minute, stunt doubles are involved, Megan Hilty says it stops the show every single time, and I see why

• Operation Mincemeat: Jak Malone's "Dear Bill", even the cynical Jesse Greene praised this song, it was moving, tender, and sweet. I knew as soon as Jak opened his mouth to sing it, that he was going to win the Tony....and he did

• The Last Five Years: I didn't love this show either, but it was thrilling to be so close to my childhood crush, Nick Jonas. These seats at a Jonas Brothers concert would have been over $1000, I got them for $180

• Stranger Things The First Shadow: The Mind Flayer reveal was one of the few times i've reacted out loud in a theater, I actually said "OH MY GOD!" As the puppet CAME DOWN INTO THE AUDIENCE! It looked SO REAL! I was genuinely scared

• Hugh Jackman Live: Valjean's Silliloquy LIVE!!! Hugh made the room shake with his vibratto

• Old Friends: QUEEN Bernadette Peters singing Send In The Clowns and causing a motherquake. I've adored Bernadette for years, seeing her live was a thrilling treat

• Just in Time: Jonathan Groff coming right over to my table, leaning over, and gazing into my eyes as he serenaded me with "Dream Lover." I swooned like a teenager at an Elvis Presley concert. Then to top it off, Jonathan gave my 1950s inspired costume his seal of approval. Core memory made! I thought this would be a once in a lifetime moment, but it turns out, it was not

• Just in Time Take 2: Jonathan Groff came over to my table to serenade me and a friend with "Dream Lover", I started bopping my head and mouthing the lyrics back to him, and i'll never forget the giant ear to ear smile that crept onto Jonathan's face when he realized that I knew the words, we sang the entire chorus to each other, leaving my friend starstruck, and me, with a giant grin on my face for the rest of the evening

• Oh Mary: The ice cream confession scene, I laughed the hardest I'd laughed all week and nearly fell out of my seat

• Maybe Happy Ending: The heartbreaking memory sequence. And being able to watch my friend react to it.

• Just in Time: Making my long overdue Broadway debut singing and dancing with Jonathan Groff at curtain call, it will forever be one of my most cherished memories

• Pirates of Penzance: Jinx Monsoons hysterical pantomime esque performance. Especially the scene where she crawls accross the stage while wailing, also, Jinx can SING! My goodness. Get Jinx in Death Becomes Her or something.

• Hadestown #5: Watching my friend react to the epic "Wait For Me" scene, we had second row seats, so the lamps swung right over us, it's always such a magical scene

• Mama Mia: The "Does Your Mother Know?" scene, it's always been one of my favorite songs, but they dialed it up to 600%, it got a louder applause then even Dancing Queen

• Death Becomes Her: Michelle Williams understudy performing "Siempre Viva", it was also wonderful to see a plus sized woman in a sexy role like Viola Van Horn

• John Proctor is the Villain: The "Green Light" dance sequence, this show was a little heavier, and this was such a joyful way for the show to end

• The Great Gatsby: Sam Pauly's absolute showstopper, New Money. She was the one thing I loved about this dud of a show

• Little Shop of Horrors: FEED ME/Git It. Major Attaway is a fantastic Audrey 2. And the sequence itself is so much fun

• Damn Yankees at Arena Stage: Anytime Rob McClure was on stage

• Queen of Versiles: Kristen Chenowith's high note in the act 2 opener was maybe the only thing I liked about this show.

• ART: Some people hate him, some love him, but oh my goodness, James Corden's five minute monologue stopped the show and made me laugh the hardest i'd laughed all week

• Ragtime: Joshua Henry singing "Let Them Hear You"

• Chess: Nicholas Christopher's "Anthem." He sang the roof off of the theater. More then Lea Michelle

• Two Strangers Carry a Cake: The American Express number

Runner Up: Watching Tom Francis sing Sunset Blvd live in Times Square TWICE. Unfortunately he was out when I went to see the show last year, so seeing his walk was a real treat!
